1. A supportive space
Utulivu community spaces are intended for mutual encouragement. People may be at different points in recovery or wellbeing journeys. Be kind, listen carefully, and avoid judging someone else's experience.
2. Protect privacy
Do not share another person's phone number, address, medical information, private messages or identifying details without their permission. Avoid posting your own sensitive information in public spaces.
3. Offer support, not diagnosis
Members can share lived experience, encouragement and general resources. Do not claim to diagnose others, prescribe treatment, or pressure anyone to stop professional care or medication.
4. No abuse or exploitation
Harassment, threats, hateful or discriminatory attacks, sexual exploitation, targeted bullying, scams, advertising disguised as support, and encouragement of self-harm or dangerous substance use are not welcome.
5. Discuss difficult subjects with care
Use considerate language when discussing trauma, substance use, crisis experiences or other sensitive topics. Avoid graphic details when they could distress other members. Respect others who choose not to engage with a topic.
6. Respect boundaries
Do not pressure members to reveal details, meet offline, send money or take conversations to private channels. A group member's supportive message is not a substitute for a trained professional.
7. Reporting and moderation
Use available reporting or support channels to raise concerns. Moderators may remove content, limit participation or suspend accounts when necessary to protect members. For urgent threats, contact appropriate local emergency services.
8. Contribute constructively
Celebrate small wins, offer encouragement without making guarantees, and allow people to define their own goals. Together we can build a community where people feel respected and heard.
